Benefits
Why Men Choose
Laser Hair Removal
Laser hair removal offers a long-term solution for managing body hair while simplifying daily grooming routines. Many men choose laser treatments because they:
Reduce Constant Grooming
Laser treatments reduce the need for frequent shaving or trimming.
Improve Skin Comfort
Laser can significantly reduce ingrown hairs, razor burn and irritation.
Improve Appearance
Many men prefer a cleaner and more defined look across areas such as the back, chest or beard line.
Sports & Performance
Athletes and bodybuilders often choose laser hair removal for comfort, hygiene and competition preparation.
Convenience
Laser treatments gradually reduce hair growth, meaning less time spent on regular hair removal.

Areas We Treat
Common Areas Treated
Laser hair removal can be used across many areas of the body. Popular treatment areas for men include:
Shoulders
Chest
Stomach
Neck
Beard line
Arms
Underarms
Legs
Many men choose laser treatments to reduce hair thickness rather than remove all hair completely, creating a cleaner and more manageable appearance.
Most Popular for Men
Beard Shaping
One of the most popular laser treatments for men is beard line shaping.
Laser can be used to refine the beard line and permanently remove hair from areas such as:
- Upper cheeks
- Lower neck
- Stray beard hairs outside the beard line
This helps create a sharper and more defined beard shape while reducing the need for constant shaving around the beard.
Laser beard shaping can be particularly helpful for men who struggle with:
- Razor bumps
- Ingrown hairs
- Irritation on the neck
Preparation — we advise to go to a barber the day previous to your laser to make sure your beard line is neat, clean and exactly where you want it so we can laser this correctly each time. The hair will get easier to groom each time as the hairs thin and the line is more prominent.
What to Expect
Thicker Hair Growth
Men typically have thicker and denser hair growth due to testosterone.
This type of hair often responds very well to laser hair removal, as the pigment in thicker hair allows the laser to target the follicle effectively. However, because male hair growth cycles can be strong, some areas may require additional sessions to achieve optimal results.
Typical treatment expectations for men:
Timeline
Hair Growth Cycles
Laser hair removal works best when treatments are spaced according to the hair growth cycle. Typical treatment spacing:
Facial areas:
Treatments usually begin every 3-5 weeks
Body areas:
Treatments usually begin every 4-8 weeks
As hair growth reduces, the time between sessions may gradually increase.
Please Note
Areas we do not Treat
At The Laser Base, we do not perform full male Hollywood treatments.
During your consultation, our team will discuss which areas can be treated and what options are available based on your goals.
Tailored to You
Tailored Treatments for Every Client
Every laser hair removal treatment plan is personalised to the individual.
Some men choose laser hair removal for complete hair removal, while others prefer hair thinning or shaping.
Your treatment plan will be tailored based on:
- Hair type
- Skin type
- Treatment goals
- Hair growth patterns
Laser settings, treatment areas and session frequency will be adjusted accordingly to achieve the best results.
Suitability
Will It Work On Your Hair?
Laser targets pigment in the hair follicle. Here's what works best:
Suitable Hair Types
Best results- Black hair
- Brown hair
- Dark blonde hair
- Dark red hair
Mixed hair colours? Laser will pick up hairs with enough pigment and leave any without behind. Most clients see excellent results even with some lighter hairs.
Not Suitable
Insufficient pigment- Grey/white hair
- Bleach blonde hair
- Light red hair
- Very fine vellus hair
These hair types lack the melanin required for laser to effectively target the follicle. Electrolysis may be a better alternative for non-pigmented hair.

Laser vs Traditional Grooming
Many men rely on shaving or trimming to manage body hair. Laser hair removal offers several advantages:
Reduced Ingrown Hairs
Laser treatments significantly reduce ingrown hairs.
Reduced Razor Burn
Laser can help reduce skin irritation caused by frequent shaving.
Long-Term Hair Reduction
Hair gradually becomes thinner and grows back less frequently.
Less Grooming Maintenance
Many clients transition to occasional maintenance treatments instead of constant grooming.
